Id
The Id field shows the internal number under which the interface is stored. When creating a new interface, the field is empty. The interface type is displayed next to it. Both parts are for display and information only.
Name
The name of the interface. The name is shown in selection lists and, where applicable, to users in notifications about the interface.
Comment
The comment field is for free use by the integrator. It serves solely to document the configuration. You can enter information here, e.g. the purpose of the interface, any special features, etc.
Options
There is a single checkbox here: Disabled. If you select this checkbox, the interface is disabled as far as possible. The interface's channels remain available in the system, but write operations are no longer passed on to the hardware, and read operations return no value or the last available value.
Disabling an interface can be useful if the hardware is no longer connected or is defective, or if you want to try something out without addressing the physical devices.
Local Device Id
Enter the device Id with which the BACnet interface identifies itself in BACnet. This can be any free Id in the BACnet system.
Network Interface and Port
The network card and port on which the BACnet interface communicates. The default port for BACnet is 47808, but it may differ in a specific installation (either for security reasons or if the port is already in use).
Default Write Priority
The priority with which data is written from the interface to BACnet. This priority is used if no priority has been set on the channel.
Creating Channels
Channels for the BACnet interface can be created manually via channel management (e.g. based on a list exported from the BACnet management system). However, since BACnet can provide the available data points on request, it is usually easier and faster to read in the data points using the import function in the configuration menu. Select the BACnet interface there, and channels will be imported for all detected BACnet data points.
