The Image Tile displays a dynamically selected image in a tile. The selection works like the dynamic status icon: a formula expression and a decision table determine which image appears. The tile can respond to click and long touch.
How to proceed
- In the Controls dialog, create a control of type Image Tile.
- Assign a Name.
- Under Dynamic Image, define the formula expression and the table that maps conditions to images.
- Under Fit, select how the image fits into the tile.
- Set Scaling % and Opacity %.
- Specify what happens On Click and On Long Touch.
- Confirm the dialog.
Fields
In addition to the common fields, the dialog has these fields:
| Field | Meaning | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic Image | Formula expression and decision table for image selection | New controls have the fixed value true as their formula. |
| Fit | How the image is fitted into the tile | Fit (to smallest dimension), Stretch (to largest dimension), Distort (ignore aspect ratio). Default: Fit. |
| Scaling % | Size of the image as a percentage of the available space | Default 100. Values are limited to 0 to 100. The exact effect depends on the mode selected under Fit. |
| Opacity % | Opacity of the tile | Default 100. Values are limited to 0 to 100. |
| On Click | Response to a single click | See below. |
| On Long Touch | Response to a long press | See below. |
Response on click and long touch
You select the same responses for both triggers:
| Selection | Effect | Additional field |
|---|---|---|
| None | No response | |
| X2B Page | Switches to the selected list or visualization | X2B Page |
| URL | Switches to the specified address | URL |
| Back | Switches to the previous view, like the Back button | |
| Execute Action | Executes the selected action | Action |
The additional field only appears for the matching selection.
Example
With the Execute Action response, you act on channels.
- Push button: An action of type sequence with two steps. First, the channel is set to
1, then to0after a delay of about 0.5 seconds. - Switching: A sequence with one step. As the value, enter the logical negation of the status channel; as the target, the command channel.
Notes and limitations
- The image tile supports an operating lock and a PIN. You configure both under Control, more options. It has no timer.
- The tile has no channels of its own. It only evaluates the channels that occur in the formula expression.
- Whether the image and the response are both protected by the PIN is not documented.
